1. Restaurant branding- Misselthwaites
Branding for a high street restaurant called Misselthwaites. This restaurant serves healthy food, with an indication of the calorie content on the menu, and an emphasis on choice. Misselthwaites claims to unlock the secret of enjoyable healthy dining.
2. DVD Packaging
I worked on this project with Boris Muller. The brief was to produce packaging for a set of documentary DVDs. We had to produce packaging that was unique to each DVD but to have a uniform. As there where three films, we decided on the triangle shape because it has three sides. The images on the DVD cover are from three minutes into the film. Most of the uniform aspects have something to do with three.
The packaging is very simplistic, it is a cardboard base with a folded paper insert, this would make it very inexpensive for a company to produce on mass.
3. Lithium film website
This website would work similar to spotify premium. A member would pay a small fee to be able to stream documentaries online. They would also have the opportunity to buy a download or a DVD.
4. National Chlamydia Screening Programme solution
This is my solution to the problem. The reason the package would not fit into a post box was the large tube, that protected the urine tube, was to big for the mouth of the post box. I decided to remove the large outer tube and my method of protecting the urine tube is to securely hold it in a cardboard box. This box fits easily into a post box. Inside the box is a plastic bag to stop any leakages.
I also decided to change the branding of the national Chlamydia screening program's `check urself∫ because I found it patronising- not everyone under 24 and sexually active are `gangsta'. I have removed the abbreviation, changed the font and colour scheme. I believe the new design is more clinical but still young and assessable, yet communicates to all genres of young people.
5. Conflict solution: Association of British Cyclists
This app is to be used to produce safer roads and to raise awareness of the dangers of the road to cyclists. Therefore easing the conflict between cyclists and other road users. The way the app works is that when an incident happens a cyclist would log it into the app by filling out a simple form. Then the Association of British Cyclists would put the incident onto the map so other cyclists can see trouble spots to avoid and the association would be able to campaign to councils to improve the road environment to make them safer for all road users.
